Old Amsterdam awarded ‘Diamond Taste’
For the seventh year in a row Old Amsterdam has won the Superior Taste Award with three golden stars. But we never get used to these results, says CEO Henny Westland.
“Gaining this coveted award after seven years, had us cheering when we read the jury reports. We never get used to this!” says Henny Westland, female CEO of Westland Cheese, creators of Old Amsterdam. “It is a recognition for all of us that we are on the right track with Old Amsterdam. This award proves the constant quality of our products over a long period”.
Diamond Taste Award
The Diamond Taste Award is granted only to products that have reached 3 Golden stars Superior Taste Award (with a gustatory score over 90%) 7 times over the last 10 years. This achievement is particularly remarkable given the fact that the same product is judged on a strictly blind basis by a different jury each year, selected among Chefs and Sommeliers members of the major European culinary associations.

Panel of experts
The Superior Taste Award is a unique international recognition based upon the blind judgment of Chefs and Sommeliers who are opinion leaders and experts in taste. Judges are selected within the 15 most prestigious European culinary and sommeliers associations such as the Maîtres Cuisiniers de France, Academy of Culinary Arts, Hellenic Chefs' Association, Académie Culinaire de France, Verband der Köche Deutschlands, Federación de Asociaciones de Cocineros de España, Federerazione dei Cuochi Italiana, Årets Kock of Sweden, Euro-Toques, Gilde Van Nedrlandse Meesterkoks, Associação de Cozinheiros Profisionais de Portugal, Craft Guild of Chefs, Turkish Cooks Association, World Master Chefs Society (WMCS) and the Association de la Sommellerie Internationale (ASI). The Chefs and Sommeliers judge in total over 20 categories in which they do not only pay attention to the taste, but also to the smell, texture and look & feel of a product. The judges evaluated Old Amsterdam as ‘exceptional’ with three stars for the 7th year in a row.
