Old Amsterdam has been awarded prizes by the International Taste Institute

Huizen, January 15, 2024 – Old Amsterdam has won the Superior Taste Award of the International Taste Institute. The Superior Taste Award is a certification awarded to food and beverage products that are evaluated by a prestigious jury of experts. Old Amsterdam attaches great importance to quality and craftsmanship and this has been recognized by the jury in the form of various top classifications. Extra special is the designation of the Crystal Taste Award, an appointment for exceptional class that the Old Amsterdam 48+ cheese can proudly wear for the next three years.

The International Taste Institute, based in Brussels, annually awards products that amaze in terms of taste and quality. It works with a star system and an international jury of more than 200 renowned chefs and sommeliers, who assess participating products by blind tasting. Products are judged based on appearance, smell, taste, texture and overall impression. The average of the scores can lead to three top classifications: three stars for exceptional products, two stars for excellent products or one star for remarkable products.

An extraordinary achievement three times in a row  
The honorable designation of three stars was given to Old Amsterdam 48+ cheese for the third time in a row, which led to a Crystal Taste Award. Old Amsterdam 48+ is a characteristic and tasty old cheese, which has a savory and slightly sweet taste. The cheese is rich in ripening crystals and yet can be sliced. The honorable appointment is recognition of the delicious taste, and also of the craftsmanship of Old Amsterdam.
